What are your thoughts on this episode and what if any messages came into focus for you?

Ammit

This episode was absolutely incredible. The action, the drama, the progression in quite a few stories- all of it was good and beautiful. Alia got me all misty in a miniscule scene. I cried for Alain. I cried for Javert. I was scared for Takeru, worried by Sage and the Daitenkuu crew filled me with pride and joy.

There was a message somewhere in here about slumps and sadness and choosing your path and I think it all boils down to this: if you don’t make your own decisions and follow your heart, you can never be truly happy. That doesn’t mean independence will result in happiness, but working for the man, working towards the Utopia you have blindly believed in and working just to stay survive will almost certainly not bring you on the road to wholeness and contentment.

Sono

This episode was so great. It takes a little bit to get it’s feet under it, but once it’s going, it’s just about everything I’ve ever hoped for. And so much of the non-rider cast really got to shine this episode. I’m so proud of them, and so proud of Ghost’s creative staff for giving them this time to shine in a way that we really haven’t seen since Fourze and the KRC, and maybe occasionally in Wizard.

Overall, I’m with Ammit, because that’s a message that resonates with me and where I am in my life. You’ve got to go with your heart, take risks to do what’s best for you even if it seems like the less safe option, and make your own path. There will be slumps and doubts and rough patches, and it will take a LOT of hard work, but when you break through it will feel great and you’ll be a lot better off for it.

Woments

The unKamenCrew’s Top 3 moments that made them say “Woah” from this bit of Ghost

Ammit

  • Alia’s reaction to learning that Adel killed Adonis and entrusting Alain to Takeru
  • Seeing Akari and friends defending Cubi and Composer Ganma was amazing. They are all such precious souls!
  • And Javert came in too. I knew he would JUST before it happened, but I still couldn’t handle it.

Sono

  • Holy s#!t can Alain play dead on his feet. This kid can express emotions so powerfully god damn. What killed me was his little smile when he calls Makoto by his name. He was so happy. It was so perfect.
  • The unfolding saga of Onari and Javert. It was short but it was there and I’m so excited for where this is going because it’s GOING to go somewhere. I’m a sucker for certain action-adventure tropes and the villain redemption flag of “You helped me so I protected you. Now we’re even.” is pretty far up there. Onari just looked so proud as Javert walked away.
  • On that note, I’m so dang proud of Onari for stepping up to fight. Akari too, but I mean she has a weapon she knows works. Onari has his staff and his confidence and not much else and he stepped into defend his whole pack. This ray of sunshine is too good for all of us.

Sarracenian

  • Igor revealing himself as the Silicon Valley dark enlightenment dudebro that he is and gets promptly slapped for it is a good.
  • Akari slapping the accelerationist dark enlightenment dudebro is the best thing ever.

Questions

On Eyecons

  1. What do you think of Deep Specter suit and powers?
  2. Did you buy that Makoto was really “diving too deep” to access that power and what do you think that means?

Forcing Perspective

  1. The Golden Mandala protected Takeru from the Ganmeiser early on in the episode. When the Ganmeiser returned, the 15 Heroic Eyecons acted of their own will and formed Grateful. What could that mean, especially when Takeru is hurt by the 15 Monoliths the second time?
  2. Does Cubi and Composer’s departure a cop out to stop putting them in the show or does it feel like a good use of their characters?

Miscellaneous: Something happened with Grateful that seems to be related to the Ganmeisers. Takeru was mysteriously hurt when transforming into Grateful. Cubi and composer leave the show for now to re-ignite their passions. Javert saves them and the Daitenkuu crew from Igor. Akari slaps Igor and tells him off. Also
